@BestPriceNutrition Thanks John for the informative video. If you could make another video that compare different brands and explain common production processes that affects quality. I was wondering, I’m currently taking New Chapte’s Wholemega. Should I use Minami instead or stick with wholemega? and are they comparable in terms of quality? Thanks
July 28th, 2011 - 16:16
@khld1 New Chapter Wholemega is good however I do prefer Minami as they do not use molecular distillation (they never reach the high temperatures with the Supercirtical CO2 extraction). Also the amount of EPA and DHA per cap is so much higher which is nice. Thanks for watching.

What do you guys think of megared krill oil and how it stands up to fish oils, and if would be a worthy alternative?
August 13th, 2011 - 19:50
@omarthebj the problem with Krill oils is that it has been over fished and that has effected the quality, it is very cheap to harvest because of the fishing methods used. Also there is a lot of hyperbole about Krill oil being in a phospholipid form as opposed to the triglyceride form from fish oil, this is all marketing as there is no evidence to validate this being a superior form. Hope this helps.

I like how all your videos are based purely on logic and science. Very informative indeed.
Just a lil’ tip though. I have noticed in some of the videos you keep hitting the table with your hands. Not a big deal but the noise is a bit annoying.

@neotrixter thanks for watching and thank you for the tip (others have said the same thing) so I am trying to stop doing that.

Someone said DHA is much more important than EPA. Others, like you guys, said EPA is more important. For those who told me that DHA is important is that our brains is make up of about 60% of DHA fat. And when needed, our body can easily convert DHA into EPA, is not as easy other way around. What do you think.
I consider myself as a healthy person with no health problem, however, I do want to improve my brain. What do you think I should be taking? More EPA or DHA?
October 3rd, 2011 - 17:09
@lauls85 we hate pitting them against each other as you need both. If you look at tissue in the body most of it is DHA, however the research is finding the functional effect of EPA to be greater especially w/ cognitive function. Also the body more easily converts EPA to DHA than the other way around (despite conventional wisdom). Check out the studies referenced on Minami Nutrition’s site (they are peer reviewed studies). Bottom line is you need both, but more EPA. Hope this helps.

Anything wrong with Optimum Nutrition’s Fish Oil (in terms of concentration and purity, etc.)?
December 14th, 2011 - 17:04
@ThePhatIndian it’s like the others in that it is molecularlly distilled so it’s not on the level of Minami. Hope this helps.
